Principal Function
To lead a nurturing, loving environment for children ages birth through 5th grade (and their families) to connect with God and one another by coordinating regular activities and special events.
RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a Children’s Ministry Leadership Team consisting of committed and gifted volunteers capable of setting goals and implementing strategy.
- Lead, recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the Children’s Ministry.
- Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children’s Ministry programming, including:
- Sunday School
- Children’s Church
- Wednesday Night programming
- Outreach/Family Events
- Curriculum Selection
- Serve as a member of the Church Council to coordinate the Children’s Ministry with the direction and strategy of Chesterfield Baptist.
- Develop and oversee a Children’s Ministry budget for the implementation of ministry.
- Develop and maintain a ministry accessible to and welcoming of every child.
- Share in the ministry of caring for children and their families.
- Work and coordinate with ministry leaders and staff and makes every effort to participate in all staff functions and business meetings.
- Must become a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church.

- Protect the confidentiality of minors.
- Responsible for reporting to authorities any suspected instances of child abuse or neglect.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with web browsing, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and social media.
- Have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
