Children's Director

Part-time Position (approximately 20 hours/week)
Reports Directly to the Pastor
$15,000 annual salary

Principal Function

To lead a nurturing, loving environment for children ages birth through 5th grade (and their families) to connect with God and one another by coordinating regular activities and special events.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and lead a Children’s Ministry Leadership Team consisting of committed and gifted volunteers capable of setting goals and implementing strategy.
  2. Lead, recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the Children’s Ministry.
  3. Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children’s Ministry programming, including:
    1. Sunday School
    2. Children’s Church
    3. Wednesday Night programming
    4. Outreach/Family Events
    5. Curriculum Selection
  4. Serve as a member of the Church Council to coordinate the Children’s Ministry with the direction and strategy of Chesterfield Baptist.
  5. Develop and oversee a Children’s Ministry budget for the implementation of ministry.
  6. Develop and maintain a ministry accessible to and welcoming of every child.
  7. Share in the ministry of caring for children and their families.
  8. Work and coordinate with ministry leaders and staff and makes every effort to participate in all staff functions and business meetings.
  9. Must become a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church.

  8. Protect the confidentiality of minors.
  9. Responsible for reporting to authorities any suspected instances of child abuse or neglect.
  10. Basic computer skills including familiarity with web browsing, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and social media.
  11. Have and maintain a clean driving record.
  12. Must pass a criminal background check.
