The Bank Account We All Have
Imagine you had a bank that each morning deposited $86,000 in your account and at the end of each day it would take back every cent you did not use. It was the same day in a day out. $86,000 deposited every morning and then every cent you hadn’t used was withdrawn at the end of the day. What would you do with such an account? Why would learn to withdraw every cent before the end of each day so as not to lose it.
Did you know you have such an account? Yes you do. You and every human being have an account in the bank of time. Every morning 86,400 seconds is deposited in your account and at the end of each day whatever you didn’t use is taken away. You cannot carry a balance over until the next day. You cannot put the wasted time “in a bottle” and save it for another day. It is a “use it or lose it” proposition.
So how are you using your time? Let me recommend some ways we might use our time to better ourselves and our world.
Revival 2012 – March 15-18 – Let me challenge everyone to be involved in preparing for revival.
- You can pray for our guest speaker, Glenn Maddox.
- You can open your home and host a cottage prayer meeting. (You can contact Marjie Button or me if you would like to host one.)
- You can invite a friend or neighbor to attend revival with you.
- Your prayerful participation can make our week of revival a time of spiritual renewal for you and your church.
A New Opportunity for Bible Study – “The Pastor’s class”
- What is it? A small group Bible study led by me, Pastor Engleman.
- Who is invited? - Anyone who is not currently in Sunday school.
- What Will We Study? – Things like life, money, work, character, leadership, usefulness, wisdom, mission, and even sex.
- When? - We start February 5th, at 9:45 AM
- Come check it out.
These are just a few of the many opportunities for worship, witness, spiritual growth, and service offered by this good church. We also have a ministry to the homeless, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Women’s Weekday Bible Studies, Baptist Young Women on Mission, and Impact Virginia, Mission Madness, and Passport mission camps for youth. Why not use some of those 86,400 seconds you have for God’s glory?
